Use Case 2 — Backup power

Grid-tied backup on loss

Inverter switches to islanded mode within milliseconds on grid loss. A 5.12 kWh unit runs a refrigerator, lighting, and router for 6–10 hours. A 10.24 kWh unit doubles that.

Charge cheap, discharge expensive

LiFePO₄ contains no cobalt, no nickel, no manganese — supply-chain due diligence under EU Reg 2023/1542 is substantially simpler than for NMC. CE marked. Battery passport in preparation for the 18 February 2027 deadline. We’re a 2022 manufacturer without a decade-long residential track record, and we say so. What we do have: IEC 62619 cell-level certification, EU-jurisdiction warranty, and spare parts stocked in Romania.

What is the difference between the 5 kWh and 10 kWh models?

Capacity, physical size, and weight — the platform is otherwise identical. The 5.12 kWh weighs 53 kg (600×220×500 mm), the 10.24 kWh weighs 84 kg (800×230×550 mm). Both run the same 51.2 V LFP BMS, the same CAN/RS485 interface, and the same warranty. Choose based on your daily solar yield and consumption profile.

What cycle life does this battery carry, and under what conditions?

6,000 cycles at 80% DoD and 25°C ambient, per IEC 62619. Real-world ambient above 25°C cuts cycle count. Cycling at 70% DoD extends service life beyond the rated figure.

Does it work with my existing inverter?

CAN and RS485 — the protocols every residential hybrid inverter speaks. We supply a verified compatibility list covering 30+ brands, with firmware notes. Ask before ordering if you’ve got a specific model in mind.

Is this battery suitable for outdoor installation?

IP21 means protection against vertical dripping only — not weatherproof. Outdoor use requires a sheltered environment: carport, shed, or garage. The HLY-BESS-Commercial-Industrial line starts at IP54 for outdoor-rated systems.

Where is the residential battery serviced in Europe?

Henley Power services European projects from Romania — engineering and warranty support staffed locally. Spare parts stocked inside the EU. Nine service regions cover the EU, Eastern Europe, and Africa.

What does the warranty cover and is insurance available?

5 years system warranty, covering cells, BMS, and thermal management. A 5-year optional extension is available. Warranty insurance via licensed European insurer is available as a project option for DFI-financed and institutionally-backed tenders. Parent guarantee or escrow alternative on request.
